At Terra View Homes, we believe that community is more than just the houses we build. That’s why we were thrilled to participate in the GDHBA’s Residential Construction Day program, hosting local high school students from John F. Ross and GCVI at our NiMa Trails community for a hands-on learning experience in new home construction.
On February 27, 2025, students had the unique opportunity to step inside the world of homebuilding with our team at Terra View Homes. Through guided tours of two Net Zero Ready homes—one in its finished stage and another in rough-in construction—students got an up-close look at the different phases of building, the importance of sustainable home design, and the growing career opportunities available to them in our industry.
During the event, students rotated between interactive learning stations covering key topics such as:
- Site safety & green building – Understanding best practices in construction safety and how sustainability is integrated into home design.
- The different phases of construction – Walking through a fully finished home and one in progress to learn more about the different stages of a build.
- Career opportunities in the trades – Learning firsthand about the exciting and rewarding career paths in construction, design, and site management.
With the guidance of our expert team, students engaged in meaningful discussions, asked insightful questions, and left with a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship and innovation behind every new home we build.
The success of this event further reinforces our belief that hands-on experiences are invaluable in career development. As the demand for skilled trades grows, we remain committed to supporting local students, offering mentorship, and providing opportunities that encourage them to explore careers in construction.
